Though a novel it has the historical details and insightful plausible depictions of her relationships with Stieglitz and others. Her language is fluid and often beautiful in its characterizations of the people and especially Georgia O'Keefe's insights and dialogue. I lived in Taos New Mexico for 14 years and still love New Mexico. I visited Abiquiu and saw her home there. The book is quite sensual in parts w/o being pornographic. Before reading the book I did not know, though I should have suspected, that Ms. O'Keefe was introduced to New Mexico first in Taos by Mabel Dodge Luhan who invited many artists and writers there including D. Lawrence whose ashes are buried in San Cristobal 30 miles north of Taos. Great book that I am searching Alibris for more copies of to send to friends in Taos and elsewhere.
