Seller's Description:
Ingri & Edgar Parin d'Aulaire. Very good in very good jacket. A handsome copy of this 1936 early--but not 1st--edition. Tight and VG (with a bit of light rubbing and soiling to the panels) in a bright, price-intact, VG dustjacket, with light chipping along the panel edges (re-inforced partly with one small piece of internal tape) and very light wear to the spine ends. Tall quarto, wonderfully illustrated thruout by the d'Aulaires, who were "the first artists in the country who ventured to return to the early craftsmen's method and make picture books by drawing the color illustrations directly on stone. That is why the gorgeous pictures in their books have such beautiful color and the appearance of originals." (from the rear dustjacket flap).
