Excerpt from Genealogical Memoranda of the Quisenberry Family and Other Families: Including the Names of Chenault, Cameron, Mullins, Burris, Tandy, Bush, Broomhall, Finkle, Rigg, and Others While I have eagerly sought out everything attainable about each of the families considered in this work, I have naturally been most deeply interested in matters concerning my own namegthe name I am to transmit to other times, if I t ansmit an and, very much to my surprise, it is the one name of them all about which information was everywhere most easily and most voluminously secured. I have placed the price of the work-at a figure which will enable me to pay the cost of publication onlv; and it is easilv worth the price to anyone to whom it is worth anything at all. As it is for mv children and my possible remote descendants, it has been to me strictly a labor of love; and I have no hope of ever being reimbursed for even the expense I have gone to in collating and publishing it, much less for the time I have devoted to it. The edi tion, though limited to 100 copies, is more than I expect to sell, and the book has been gotten up, as to the quality of paper and bind ing, with a view to durability. There is no good reason whv a book constructed merlranieallv as this one is, with careful handling and barring accidents, should not last for several centuries.
