In the past, I've been concerned that I would dislike a book by Ms. Perry because of the trope or the blurb. And I've always been blown away by how much she could make me fall in love with something I never believed I would. Garnet Flats takes first place. I mean, really. The blurb just screamed at me to stay away and oh my gawd it was hard to crack it open. But by all that is holy in Romancelandia she won my heart again!
This was filled with emotions, angst and sizzling heat. I couldn't put it down!!! Talia and Foster were amazing separately and together. My heart hurt for both of them due to their past experience and how that was affecting their current actions and decisions. I found myself crying at one moment, yelling the next and turning my A/C down to handle the steam.
With a great pace that never lagged or became repetitive, I read this straight through. Of course, there was no way I was closing it as I needed to see these characters' broken souls healed. I loved every emotional churning moment here and yet this author did not make the angsty churn last longer than I could bear making this an incredible read.
