These renderings were made by Brice H. Sewell, Carmen Espinosa, William Lumpkins and others during the 1930s from authentic pieces of Spanish colonial furniture in museums, private collections and still in everyday use in village homes. They have been retraced from the mimeographed "Trade and Industrial Bulletins distributed to vocational schools in northern New Mexico by the State Department of Vocational Education as examples for "the modern cabinet maker" and "the buying public." Likewise, today's woodworkers, collectors, scholars, and anyone who has had the opportunity to buy or view such pieces will appreciate these accurate drawings for familiar and unfamiliar furniture.
