Fundamental, but not an introduction
There are better books out there for introductory plasma physics. I actually took the course with this book and the author (Paul Bellan), and the derivations (many of which he leaves as exercises) are far too sophisticated for someone who is not familiar with the type of mathematics and assumptions made in plasma physics. If you have some experience with plasma physics, this would be a good book. Otherwise, I would steer clear
