A forty year career in the world of training has enabled the author to acquire a deep understanding of the field and to develop numerous "hands on" tools with which to manage the wide range of tasks that confront learning and development professionals. This is not an academic book. Its intent is essentially practical. Nevertheless, key concepts and models are discussed in order to provide context and meaning, and also to describe something of the direction in which L&D must travel, and the strategic roles it must assume if organisations are to succeed into the future. While the primary audience for this book may be those new to the world of L&D, seasoned practitioners will nevertheless benefit from the range and depth of issues discussed.
