Peterson is a Veteran of the United States Army and Air Force. Her military service has spanned 17 years where she was activated in the Army Reserve and the Air National Guard during Desert Shield and 9-11. She served as a police officer and detective for 13 years before retiring. Dawn holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Counseling and is a Certified Life Coach. About the AuthorDawn M. Peterson is a Veteran of the Unites States Army and Air Force. Her military service has spanned 17 years where she was activated in the Army Reserve and the Air National Guard during Desert Storm and 9-11. She also served as a police officer for 13 years before retiring. Over the course of Dawn's career, she was a mompreneur - raising two children as a single parent with the assistance of their grandparents, the children's God parents and good friends who cared for them while she was away at any given time serving her country. In the midst of her demanding life, she held on to her love for music as an Indie Artist. She sang while she served and a released a gospel CD in 2012 entitled, "You're My Rock." A native of Washington, D.C., she has performed in the District, Maryland and Virginia area. In January of 2014, she performed in Nashville at the Stellar Awards Indie Showcase. She plays the flute, congas, drums and trombone.Dawn Peterson also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Christian Counseling and is a Certified Life Coach from B-Dorsey Life Coaching Center. Presently, she is a Court Security Officer in the District of Columbia court system.Ms. Peterson lives in Maryland with her two children, Ashley and Andrew Peterson.
