Im Naturzustand, in dem jeder bez???glich seiner Macht Mensch gleichgestellt ist und einem jeden das Recht auf alles zusteht, w???rden Menschen in einen Kampf aller gegen alle verfallen, um ihren Leidenschaften nachzukommen und ihre Bed???rfnisse zu befriedigen. Zur ???berwindung des benannten Kriegszustandes bietet Hobbes die Gr???ndung eines Staates/ eines Leviathans an, dem sich die Menschen durch zwei Mittel, Vertr???ge und Autorisation, unterwerfen und damit eine Ordnung geschaffen wird, die Frieden und Sicherheit unter den Menschen gew???hrleisten soll. Die Menschen vollf???hren eine Metamorphose hin zum B???rger, vom leidenschafts- und trieborientierten Wesen hin zum vern???nftigen, kontrollierbaren Gesellschaftsmitglied. Dieser Wandel erfolgt eigens aus der Liebe zu sich selbst, dem tiefsten Bed???rfnis, welches dem Menschen innewohnt, der Erhaltung seiner Selbst, das Streben nach Leben. Da in Hobbes' Leviathan diese Gewinnung von Sicherheit bez???glich des eigenen ???berlebens eng verkn???pft ist mit der Aufgabe seiner selbst, stellt sich mir die Frage, inwieweit eine Verpflichtung f???r den Staat eine freiwillige ist. Hobbes Auffassung von politischer Verpflichtung beinhaltet daher den Verzicht auf die eigenen Freiheitsrechte und die Pflicht zum Gehorsam.
