Fray Domingo Petres (1759-1811) was Colombia's first architect and built several notable buildings in baroque or neo-classical styles. The most well known are the Catedral de Santa Fe de Antioquia in 1799 and the Cathedral of Colombia, in Bogota, designed in 1807 and finally completed in 1823, 12 years after Fray Domingo Petres died. He also designed the Casa de Moneda and an astronomical observatory. Illustrated in black & white with many photographs of Fray Domingo Petres' buildings and reproductions of his architectural drawings and floor plans. 11" high X 9" wide, 191 pages.
