Great book by Assisi Scholar
This book is one of the finest works available on Francis of Assisi. Not only do you get a very good historical account of Francis's life, but he is placed within his cultural and historical setting. Fortini is an Italian scholar who has written much on Assisi, In this translation Moab adapted Fortini's work for the English reader and has succeeded magnificently in giving us a very readable book. If Francis of Assisi interests you don't miss out on this volume even if the price seems fairly high.
