Hence, the examination of women's education, early school leaving, popular libraries, school's secular nature, and teacher recruitment and training. Furthermore, we did not want to go without mentioning the inertia of certain public institutions in the face of the very serious problems that the Messina earthquake of December 28, 1908, generated, compared to the spontaneous help offered by ordinary people.
