Believed to have been printed for the author at Oxford University Press between 1840 and 1850. Stated by the author on title page to be "an unpublished fragment." Matthew Holbeche Bloxam (1805-1888), was an amateur archeologist who wrote extensively about gothic architecture. He is also credited as being the original source of the legend of William Webb Ellis' invention of the game of Rugby football.
