Seller's Description:
Near Fine in Very Good dust jacket. 8vo 8"-9" tall; 368 pages; 1st American edition and printing. Tight clean copy in original Shoshensky wraparound illustrated dust jacket. Two tone gray and green cloth binding with title lettering brightly in gilt to spine is very snugly bound; all board edges and corners sharp and crisp. Just mild crimping to cloth at crown of spine panel. Dust jacket retains publisher's $3.95 issue price on unclipped front flap. Dust jacket nicely illustrated with wraparound to spine by David Shoshensky. Several short closed edges tears at top edge and shallow chipping at the crown of the spine panel. A linear, verical surface rub to the spine panel is consistent with a long distance move with jacket exposed to regular constrained rub; effect is a narrow stippled sequence of lightened areas to the spine panel. By all appearances an unread copy; dust jacket has a near immaculate front panel but some rubbing flaws to ther spine panel. A classic of WWII fiction. NF/VG.
