This is the "autumn" offering from Penhaligon's Sheila Pickles, a collection of prose and poetry from antique authors and illustrated with charming reproductions of period paintings. The end papers are scented with an iconic Penhaligon's fragrace (Penhaligon's is the oldest perfumery in London, almost contemporary with Jane Austen). The book is enchanting. I have given many and many as gifts, always to delighted recipients.
