Fair. No Jacket as Issued. Book Bound in green embossed cloth with ornate gold nature imagery and titles. Very slight edge wear to binding. The contents are in fair condition only with split inner hinges and four pages detached, glue spots to endpapers and light penciling. The poems and plates remain unmarked. This copy is from a 19th Century private lending institution, the Mercantile Library of New York (Astor Place). There is a handwritten number and Mercantile Library stamp on the title page and some of the internal pages. There are no other indications of the library's ownership.

Considerable wear along edges and spine, 3/4inch split at top spine edge. Beautiful engraved plates by Messrs. Bobbett & Hooper with each poem. Sixteen original poems by Alfred B. Street and illustrated plates. All edges gilt, pages lightly browned, very clean except endpages have some staining/smudging, previous owner's name in pencil on ffep. Front hinge starting but binding still very strong.
