This book begins with Chapter 1: THE DECICION and JFK's memorandum to the Vice Pres., "Do we have a chance of beating the Soviets by putting a labroary in space or by a trip around the moon, or by a rocket to land on the moon, or by a rocket to go to the moon and back with a man? Is there any other space program which promises dramatic results in which we could win?" Chapter 2: VICTORY STORED IN A GARAGE Chapter 3: Men, Machines and Monkeys Chapter 4: The Magnificent Men... If you like this type of book, I would like to recommend that you check out some children's space exploration books written in the 1950's before man landed on the moon. It is interesting in that some of the Golden books tell about life on Mars and that the polar caps melt each spring and that only lowly mosses grow on Mars.
