Fine basic book
The recipes in this smallish book are generally fine. I would say this is a good book for someone who is just starting to cook Indian food, or only wants to cook it on occasion.
The recipes are mostly standard fare: dals, dry vegetables, etc. Nothing that will really stretch a cook. The problem is they tend to use the same five or six spices in every recipe which means your dishes are going to taste pretty similar. One of the key spices that makes for authentic Indian cooking is asafoetida, and I haven't seen any of it used in this book.
Not overwhelming, so it might be a good choice for a beginner or teenager interested in learning about different cuisines.
