I started playing bridge in my first year of college. I fumbled around for 9 months until summer break. That summer I picked up Al Sheinwold's "Five Weeks to Winning Bridge", spent the summer reading it and learning. I caught on just by reading. When I returned to college the following autumn I became one of the leading players in my fraternity. I was even teaching fellow fraternity brothers! Over the years I continued the game, even picking up some master points playing duplicate. Currently I have a group of women learning the game. I plan to give each of them a copy of this book. I think it would help anyone who earnestly wants to learn the game.
