A fine compilation from EG Records that, until the release of the Eno box sets in 1993, was one of the few places to hear such early rarities as "The Seven Deadly Finns" and "R.A.F." The most out-of-place artist here is Killing Joke, with their post-punk "Change," but aside from that, the sampler demonstrates EG's breadth in the ambient field, from Brian Eno's soundscapes ("Task Force" and "Shadow") and Jon Hassell's "fourth world" mixtures of tribal rhythms and distorted trumpet ("Courage") to Penguin Cafe Orchestra's ...
