This book is a little known treasure. For anyone interested in using ethnographic analysis, this book provides a nice compilation of methods and theory in a range from Holly Mathews' highly structured approach to Wendy Luttrell's "good enough" approach. Quinn works in the "psychological anthropology" (not at all the same as the psychoanalytic anthropology) tradition, and articles are contributed by two colleagues, Roy D'Andrade and Claudia Strauss. Jane Hill rounds out the collection. This book provided me with inspiration and practical advice as I designed and carried out the research for my dissertation project (in the writing stage!) and I expect that it will continue to do so throughout my career.
