Good Book about a Hard Topic
Barbara Hattemer's "Field of Daisies" is an emotional book. Anyone who has faced the destructive degenerative disease of Alzheimer's will relate well to this book. Andrea and Lans meet while still teenagers. Although, they get off to a rocky start, they are able to renew their friendship and romance as young adults. After 20 years of blissful marriage, tradegy strikes. Torn between her husband and her mother, Andrea does not know how she can juggle everything. Promises made to each years ago stand in the way. Which promise will she keep? And what happens when she receives her own shocking news?
This is a story of hope, faith and determination. It pulls Andrea back to her faith. It showcases her determination. It gives hope that even in the worse of times, God is there with us. When we cannot walk any further, He will carry us. Alzheimers robs not only the stricken person of their life but the caregivers lives as well. It is a disease which takes hope, faith and determination to get through.
I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Network (bookfun.org) in exchange for my honest opinion.
