The detailed description of the Portuguese colonial rule in Goa as well as the detailed and historically relevant description of the kingdom of Pegu (later Siam), which soon afterwards perished, is particularly commendable. German description: Nachdem der osterreichische Adelige Georg Christoph Fernberger im Rahmen einer Gesandtschaft an den Osmanischen Hof gelangt war, bereiste er ab 1588 Agypten, den Sinai und Mesopotamien und erreichte schliesslich Hormuz. Hier betrat Fernberger, einer der ersten Touristen der Neuzeit, die Welt des portugiesischen Estado da India, wo er sich zwei Jahre lang aufhalten sollte.
