Seller's Description:
Not Stated. Fine in Near Fine jacket. A first edition copy of J. B. Priestley's fantastical novel of an ordinary man's hazardous voyage to find his fortune on a desert island. The first edition of this work in the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. J. B. Priestley (1894 – 14 August 1984) was an English writer, broadcaster and social commentator, best known for his play An Inspector Calls. This novel of adventure centres around William Dursley, whose uncle tells him of a distant island in the South Pacific, filled with very valuable uranium ore. Dursley consequently sets out to seek his fortune. In the publisher's original cloth binding, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, cloth is in lovely condition. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean except for the odd spot to the fore edge. Dust wrapper is mostly bright and smart apart from a little sunning to the spine, light shelf wear to the tail of the spine, and small closed tears to the head of the folds and the spine. One faint mark to the front of the wrap. Fine.
