Les travaux presentes ici ont en commun le souci de reconnaitre a l'oeuvre - dans le projet et l'activite de former, de se former et d'etre forme - la dimension du fantasme: le desir de formation s'inscrit dans les prototypes infantiles des relations, la ou se jouent les questions et les reponses de l'origine (celle du sujet et celle de l'espece). Mais ce desir s'inscrit aussi dans le corps social et dans la culture: institutions et mythes de la formation gerent l'economie du desir, ils en assurent la legitimite ou l'illegitimite... La question qui affleure alors est de savoir qui est beneficiaire de cette gerance ? Le sujet singulier ou le sujet social ? Et au prix de quels compromis ?
