German description: Die Briefe, die Fanny Hensel von ihrer Reise nach Frankreich an ihre Familie geschrieben hat, zunachst nach Dusseldorf und dann nach Berlin, befinden sich heute, wohl vollstandig erhalten, im Besitz des Mendelssohn-Archivs der Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin - Preussischer Kulturbesitz. Hier liegen auch einige der Antworten, leider scheinen aber mehr als die Halfte verschollen zu sein. In dieser Ausgabe sind die Quellen zum erstenmal vollstandig wiedergegeben, einschliesslich der Postscripta von Wilhelm Hensels Schwester Minna; die Brieftexte, die der funfjahrige Sohn Sebastian seiner Mutter diktiert hat, sind im Anhang abgedruckt, auch das offensichtlich einzige Schreiben, das Wilhelm Hensel von dieser Reise an seine Schwiegereltern geschickt hat.
