These are the memoirs of Elisabeth Capone Forti Del-Paggio, a courageous and inspiring woman whose strong faith gave her the strength to endure all trials in her life. Her heartwarming stories will bring you peace, comfort and hope. Elisabeth "Vincenzina" Capone was born in the mountain town of Bisenti, Italy, in 1932, during a time of deteriorating economies across the world. Her deeply religious family worked very hard on their farm to survive during these times. It was also the year that Benito Mussolini was voted in as prime minister to Italy and one year after the radical Nazi party headed by Hitler came into power. The brutal realities of war that followed and the increasingly hazardous situation in Italy did not permeate the mountains towns of Abruzzo until 1943 when the US Allies landed in Sicily and made their way across the mainland. Her family survived extremely treacherous times. At the age of 17, she entered the L'Instituto Maestre Pie Dell'Addolorata Convent in Rimini to pursue her dream of becoming a nun. This dream would never be realized; instead, she left the hills of Abruzzo to emigrate to America in 1955. She and her husband eventually moved their family of six children to Arizona in 1974. This is the story of her life long joys and sorrows and how her strong faith and trust in God got her through it all.
