I had always felt the lack of an academic study of academic novels. In fact, I had always planned to write one myself - so I was a little disappointed actually ... Quirky appraisal of a quirky genre
This isn't a comprehensive textbook about the academic novel, but then that would be pretty dull. It takes us through the successive decades since the Second World War appraising the various novels that have characterised, and sometimes caricatured, life in Universities.
