The famous American poet and radical became interested in Eastern poetry when he came into contact with some of the translations of Ernest Fellanosa (sp?). He began to think there was a connection between the shape of the characters and their meaning. To a certain extent, he was right, but only to a certain extent. His re-working of the translations results in excellent poetry. Well worth the effort to read through.
