The movie is an IMAX production dealing with "extreme" sports -- you know, skiing down Himalayan mountain slopes, surfing 50-foot waves, free-climbing frozen waterfalls, that sort of thing. And the artists on the soundtrack album include some fairly big names in beat music (Brand New Heavies, Morcheeba, Better Daze, Afro Celt Sound System, etc.). But then the average listener should remember that this is a soundtrack album; the music isn't supposed to be drawing attention to itself. With that in mind, the program makes much more sense with a second listen; all of it is really very lovely and most of it is even quite funky. ~ Rick Anderson, Rovi
