This book I love mostly for the insight it provides into how fishkeeping has been in the past. Many of the concepts and descriptions of the fishes are still relevant, and the actual world map on the inside of the cover gives a real "Indiana Jones" kind of feel to the book. The colorized B/W photos are also an interesting historical artifact of an age when color photography wasn't up to the task. The fact that the book was also printed by the author's family printing company is another little gem from a bygone age. It would seem that the author was a bit of a gentleman scientist and author, who was not an academic, but a self funded enthusiast.
I only give 4 marks because it's not fully relevant in this day and age.
