This is a graphic novel about a boy growing up with an elder brother who has epilepsy which does not respond to treatment, and his parents' search for cures including various alternative therapies. It is very honest (for example when he hopes his brother will die). The drawings are not ordinary graphic novel fodder but highly expressive and artistic: many panels are as detailed as the front cover (but make more sense and are all black and white). There are a number of recurring symbols - epilepsy is represented by a kind of dragon - and flashbacks to the lives of the grandparents and childhoods of parents. It is very much better than my description! My only disappointment was I was hoping for some kind of resolution (preferably happy) at the end but it is a real-life story (I've heard the author talk about it). Also, the French title is more like 'Climbing Mount Seizure' - another recurring symbol.
