The steps are organized in such a way that able readers can move ahead speedily whereas students experiencing difficulties are given a helping hand. Towards the end of each chapter is a practical section, where a physical or engineering problem which uses some of the mathematics is solved. Finally, each chapter is summarized, and a tutorial sheet with hints and solutions provided. Further exercises are also supplied for extra practice.
