I had very high hopes for this novel. The only reason I bought it was the quote on the cover by Stephen King saying that Peter Abrahams is the best writer of thrillers in the U.S. Since I had never heard of Abrahams and King is one of my favorites I took his word for it. I was very disappointed. The whole time I was reading this I felt as if I was missing something. It seemed as if conversations just stopped in mid-stream and thoughts were left half-formed. Maybe this book was written for the more creative reader who enjoys drawing their own conclusions. I also did not like the ending. It was the one part of the novel that was clearly spelled out, but I wanted it to be different.
