I've been looking for such an edition - i.e. complete single-volume encyclopedia - for months. This one seems to be the only one of its kind in the past 8 years.
Unlike other smaller encyclopedias with entries for each plane type, the chapters in this book are dedicated to groups of the planes of the same kind in a certain period in history. In fact, this book is about history of military aviation, covering the role and comparison of different plane types, as well as their usage. Here you?ll find fold-outs with charts on plane characteristics and production numbers, photos, and of course, drawings and specification boxes for each plane type. These drawings are somewhat less realistic than those in ?The Encyclopedia of Military Aircraft? by Robert Jackson, but there's much more information here.
I have both books, and Enzo Angelucci's is my favourite. I even bought another copy of it as a gift for my brother.
