It is the first published volume of industry employment data under the new North American Industry Classification System. This publication brings together the wealth of employment data compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that was last published in 1994 and until now has been available only on the Internet. It also provides the new employment estimates derived under the North American Industry Classification System, which replaced the Standard Industrial Classification in 2003 in recognition of business in the economy, as they exist today. These data are available from 1990 and this volume contains the estimates through 2003.
