Great story of courage and hope. The value of living positively...if you don't know you are blind, and your parent treats you like you are not different...expectations abound!
An eye opening read....in reality.

Out of print, yet never forgotten.
This is one of the best books I have ever read. Being a true account of the close bond between a blind person and the trained dog who gives this woman her independence makes it all the more educating & interesting. The way in which it is written is extemely personal, Sheila Hocken being able to write in such a way that you seem to live the experiences, or are right there with her. The depth of emotion is something we who love dogs can truly feel, her humor and English expressions are just icing on the cake. Also, the personal photographs in the book are a true bonus. The book is not easy to put down until done, and thankfully she continued to write more! I will have them in my library, and love them always.
