Joudpore, capital of Marwar, the most extensive state in Rajpootana, is chiefly remarkable for its immense citadel. Bekanair, a large town, situated in a singularly desolate spot in the desert Bhurtpoor carries on an extensive trade in salt, derived from a lake in the vicinity. Jeypoor is regarded as the most elegant city in all India that has been solely erected by the natives. Jndore, capital of Holcar's dominions, contains numerous Brahminical temples and a British residency.
