Su familia fue descubierta, capturada y trasladada a distintos campos de concentraci???n alemanes. El ???nico sobreviviente de las ocho personas ocultas en la casa, fue Otto Frank, su padre. Ana fue enviada al campo de concentraci???n nazi de Auschwitz el 2 de setiembre de 1944 y posteriormente al campo de concentraci???n de Bergen-Belsen, donde falleci??? a causa de tifus el 12 de marzo de 1945, pocos d???as antes de que ???ste fuera liberado. En 1947, dos a???os despu???s de finalizada la guerra, su padre Otto public??? el diario con el t???tulo de "La casa de atr???s", o tambi???n conocido simplemente como "El Diario de Ana Frank".
