Experto conocedor de la literatura norteamericana, pero tambi???n de la anglosajona en general, y de la espa???ola -y de la hispanoamericana-, con 'El crujido' aporta un panorama personal pero muy completo y actual de la narrativa y la poes???a de los Estados Unidos, adem???s de un buen manojo de agudas reflexiones sobre su recepci???n en Espa???a; la necesaria desmitificaci???n del Bukowski que nos han vendido; lecturas de Burroughs, Whitman, Eliot, Kerouac o Carver; un amplio repaso por las obras de autores imprescindibles y poco conocidos en nuestro pa???s, como Larry Brown o Delmore Schwartz; incursiones en el territorio del guion cinematogr???fico (Coen, Scorsese, Tarantino); visitas espor???dicas a las literaturas hisp???nicas v???a Roberto Arlt, Daniel Chavarr???a y Fernando Vallejo, o Jos??? Mar???a Fonollosa y Avelino Hern???ndez, o incluso Pessoa... Por razones evidentes, es tambi???n un fruto maduro y ejemplar de la literatura comparada y, a ratos, un peque???o manual de traducci???n literaria. Tiene mucho que ver con ello el hecho de que Ingelmo sea hoy uno de los mejores traductores espa???oles, habiendo vertido al idioma de Cervantes a autores como Larry Brown, Martin Carter, Thomas MacGreevy, Wole Soyinka, Natasha Trethewey y Derek Walcott; y al de Shakespeare, en colaboraci???n con el poeta irland???s Michael Smith, a otros como Ver???nika Volkow, Elsa Cross, Claudio Rodr???guez, An???bal N??????ez, Fernando de Herrera o Gustavo Adolfo B???cquer. Y eso se refleja en algunas de las mejores piezas que recoge el volumen. Su trabajo sobre la relaci???n entre la obra de Claudio Rodr???guez y la de su traducido T. S. Eliot es clave para entender la figura y la poes???a del zamorano; y, en general, sus reflexiones sobre la traducci???n literaria son obligadas para cualquiera que pretenda dedicarse a esa actividad a medio camino entre la traici???n y la per-versi???n. Un par de jugosas entrevistas al autor completan este magn???fico volumen y, con ???l, ampl???an una bibliograf???a personal que tambi???n incluye el libro de relatos 'La m???trica del olvido' (2011) y el poemario 'Aguapi???' (2013).
