If you are interested in Scots history and in particular the turbulent times of Mary Queen of Scots, then this book is a treat. I had harldy even heard of this 3 year siege and the in and outs of the political machinations of England and France in support of their competing sides. The story is a fascinating one with midnight raids on Dumbarton Castle and Stirling, assassinations, murders, and fights, with equally interesting participants such as Kirkaldy of Grange and Maitland of Lethington. Well illustrated with lots of unusual stuff. A really good read. Sam
