One of the best novels I've ever read, Eddie's Bastard is a great coming of age story. Billy Mann is left on his old, alcoholic grandfather's doorstep a few days after being born. His father, Eddie, died flying in Vietnam. Billy grows up with his grandfather in upstate New York in the early eighties, listening to stories of the Manns greatness. This novel is funny, sad, insightful, nostalgic, and heartbreaking.
