This movie was not a box-office smash because the main character, when we meet her, seems shallow. But that is the point: she had been but is no longer shallow. She now allows herself (forces herself) to grow. There is pain and humor, in equal measure, and I find myself watching repeatedly. At the very least, this is an incredible travelogue!
