Since Easyriders, Vol. 2 is a compilation endorsed by the notorious motorcycle magazine, it's no surprise that the 14-track compilation is filled with the kind of bluesy hard rock, Southern rock, and metal that fit the stereotypical biker's tastes. It's also no surprise that, outside of relatively unknown cuts by Lee Michaels, Climax Blues Band, and Uriah Heep, the album is filled with album rock staples -- Steppenwolf's "Magic Carpet Ride," the Guess Who's "American Woman," Ted Nugent's "Stranglehold," the Allman Brothers' "Ramblin' Man," BTO's "You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet," Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody to Love" and, of course, Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird," among several others. Or to listeners who like CD covers showcasing topless, silicon-enhanced blonde babes posing provocatively on a motorcycle (no matter how dangerous and, well, painful it would actually be to be nearly nude on a hot motorcycle). [For listeners and stores who don't want the blonde model cover, Easyriders, Vol. 2 is available with an alternate cover that just shows the bike, not the babe.] ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
