Includes EPNS & Old Sheffield plate makers' marks from 1784. The prices paid for Victorian silver plate are now sometimes greater than similar wares in sterling silver. The market for Victorian Sheffield Plate, as it is called, has grown enormously. Yet through the years there has been scant information with which to identify and authenticate pieces. This book contains 650 marks attributed to makers and manufacturers. It is an essential guide for dealers and amateur collectors alike. There is a highly motivated market of dealers and collectors. This book will now attribute more pieces to their respective makers and it is expected that dealers and collectors alike will benefit from the uplift in prices that identification brings.
