The 1st novel in the Balfour Mystery series by KC Pearcey finds local psychologist Cora Stone unwillingly pulled into the investigation of a gruesome murder in her small town just as she brings a young foster child into her home. A lovely recluse who knows what she cannot possibly know, Cora has the answers to the questions everyone is asking. But none of the quirky citizens of Balfour are going to believe her. They all have secrets of their own. The only one who can help her is a hotshot detective from New Orleans from her past. The problem is that he's her ex-husband. And he doesn't want to be involved any more than she does. Cora and Charlie find themselves with a dead body and a crime to solve -- again. Charlie, the detective. And Cora, the dreamcatcher. About the Author KC PEARCEY published her first poem in the Tylertown Times newspaper at the age of ten, and she has been writing ever since. At the age of sixteen, she wrote and produced her first play for her high school. While attending Mississippi College, she won the Bellamann Award for creative excellence for her five-volume poetry collection, the Southern Literary Award twice for her adult plays, and numerous other awards for her six original children's plays written for production by drama workshop classes. Through the years, she has written and produced numerous plays, skits, essays, poems, children's programs, and murder mystery dinner theatres for churches, schools, friends, and family. She recently retired from forty years of teaching young people how to write, perform, communicate, and think. She still loves everything about teaching-except the red pens used for grading papers. Although she has lived in eight states and packed up all her worldly possessions a total of thirty-two times, she now lives happily in Stone Mountain, Georgia, with her husband. Between writing and spending time with her grandchildren, she also loves to travel and have exciting adventures. Dreamcatcher is the first in a series of novels that she always promised herself and her students that she would write when she had the time. She hopes you enjoy Balfour, Georgia, and the people who live there as much as she does.
