This was a detailed, touching and sometimes disturbing account of two entertainment ledgends. Read the book and see the Kevin Spacey movie "Beyond the Sea". Darin was an immense talent and should be better appreciated today. It took a lot of courage for Dodd Darin to tell it all. I highly recommend. Got a great deal on this scarce book through Alibris.

excellent book
I especially loved Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee and still listen to his cds. I remember the morning when Bobby Darin's death was announced. I enjoy biographies and am always careful to learn the vantage point and purpose of the author before I read, especially when children write about their parents. It is my pleasure to report that this book by Dodd Darin is a marvelous work. His research is well-done, and his writing flows well; he is truthful but makes no attempt to smear anyone. He is impressively objective about both of his parents, and this book has the blessing of his mother, Sandra Dee. Their faults notwithstanding, Dodd Darin is a credit to his parents. I highly recommend this book.

A Son Reflects on His Famous Parents
This book was written by Dodd Darin, son of Bobby Darin & Sandra Dee. It's well-written and includes many of his own memories of his parents. He also interviewed countless people who knew them, quoting them directly even when their comments were not complimentary. His depictions of Bobby & Sandra are true-to-life rather than superficial & glossy. I give him a lot of credit for writing it & I'm glad he did. As an avid Bobby Darin fan, I'm interested in learning more about him as a person rather than as a star. I don't want to be disrespectful of Bobby's right to privacy; I only want to read more about the creative & intellectual pursuits of this very talented man. Dodd's book is valuable addition to my personal library.

Fabulous Book!
I thought this was a great book. Written by the son of Bobby Darin and Sandra Dee, he recounts the lives of both of his parents and their rise to fame. Not a glossed over account of their lives, told with love and not the usual mean spirited book that most children of celebrities write.
