In a bygone era, it seems, giant creatures called Buraki roamed the land, morphing from serpents into dragons and back again, and equipped with a massive army of formidable creatures. An ancient warrior-apprentice saved the life of his beloved from these monstrosities; the warrior's spirit was eventually contained in the aforementioned chest, and it has now filled Ethan. Jack gives Ethan an enchanted red pendant and advises him to see out the contemporary incarnation of the ancient warrior's intended, who can be recognized via a red dragon tattoo on her shoulder. When the woman reaches her 20th birthday, it seems, she and Ethan - joining forces - will be able to reincarnate Imoogi as dragons. I saw this movie in theaters. I have a policy. If I've paid good money to see a film, I'm going to see a film. Until the end. Halfway through my friend was begging me to leave. I refused. I have seen this entire film, and cannot believe I lived to tell the tale.
The plot is non-existent and involves something about giant magical dragons fighting in the city. Cool, right? At least you get to see giant CGI monsters destroy a city.
Oh, so wrong.
The CGI was so bad (and pixelated? Like someone just took a small monster and stretched it) that I left with a headache. The dialogue is terrible and hackneyed. On the way home we half-joked that we felt like our brains had atrophied.
I love action films. I love monster films. I love films with no plot but awesome effects, or lame effects but hilariously bad plots. This is no Robot Monster. This is flat out awful, don't waste your time.
