Seller's Description:
Good Condition. Pamphlet. Maine. Inscribed by Author. A scarce bit of ephemera, especially inscribed by Roberts. The copies I have seen are marked as Christmas gifts to friends in 1951. This copy is inscribed on the title page to Dr. Oscar Johnson by Roberts. The Christmas notation at the bottom of the page next to the year of publication is almost completely washed away by the water. The text was originally written by Roberts as his last article for the Saturday Evening Post (Bales, 1993, p. 87) and reprinted by Colby College Press. There is a four page catalog of publications at the rear of the text. Note: I have a large selection of Kenneth Roberts books and related materials. Contact me if you are looking for something in particular. First Thus. Size: Around 7" or slightly taller-Duodecimo (12mo). 27 pages. Item Type: Pamphlet. Saddle-stapled booklet with heavier stock plain cover coverd in turn by a red wrapper with flaps. The booklet is tight, but the bottom two inches have been exposed to water resulting in some of the red coloration of the wrapper to transfer to the cover and a heavy tide mark to the coated stock frontis of the Colby campus, the title page and the half-title. The rest of the pages are rippled in the lower part of the page from the water. The bottom three inches of the spine fold and about an inch of the rear flap fold of the wrapper have split and been repaired with archival paper tape. The water resulted in some white specks on the front flap (that have been largely cleaned up since the photo of the wrapper was taken). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 1 lb 0 oz.
