My 4 year old loves all of Moe Willem's books - but the pigeon is hysterical! I highly recommend all of the Pigeon and all of the Elephant & Pig books to anyone with pre-schoolers!

Pigeon the Antihero
My 6yr old loves this book. Fun as a parent even after the kajillionth time reading it. It's fun having the child read it to you, too.
The drama, the pouting, the whining - kids do get it and love it.
If you feel there has to be a teaching moment, if you must, you can take the opportunity to lightly ask, "Should we let the pigeon stay up late just because he's yelling at us? If we did what would he do next time?? Do we like his yelling at us?"

Wonderful!
I ordered 3 copies of this book for grandchildren. It was an immediate success. They are 15-25 months old and are able to sit through several readings of the book at a time!
The author is very aware of childhood behavior and does a great job of expressing children's feelings and comments. WONDERFUL!
